Always good to have hard working, smart kids on the team.

Names have been added to the official roster on the Uconn website. (But no photos yet.)

So Pulido isn't 5' 7", she's 5' 7.5"? Is someone competitive or is there another reason? I've never seen a height listed to the half inch.

-Geno probably made her take off her shoes before the press interview. This wouldn’t routinely be happening to our UConn players, if Rebecca would Just Say No!!!

Seems neither of these kids will hurt the team's average GPA score. :)

Has anybody else, who notices trivial details, wondered about the fact that ALL the girls have jersey numbers that stay between 0 and 4?

Banks: 13
Chong: 12
Dolson: 31
Hartley:14
Jefferson: 4
Lawlor: 20
Mosqueda-Lewis: 23
Pulido: 11
Stewart: 30
Stokes: 41
Tuck: 3

They sound like great kids.
Won't surprise me if either one or both eventually is offered a scholarship during their UConn careers. Based on the reported info both sound like really hardworking overachievers.

IMO, there is no such personal condition as an “overachiever”. One either achieves or one doesn’t. Expectations(especially from “others”) of achievement are just that…indeed, dust in the wind compared to actual accomplishments. Hence, my praise for these two fine young women.

Basketball numbers are restricted to 5 or less so that officials can signal the number of the player who just committed the foul by raising the appropriate number of fingers

So why aren't there any 5's in the numbers? I think that was the question.

College players are not permitted to wear numbers that include digits greater than 5. (In other words, 55 is OK but numbers like 6 or 77 are verboten?). This is supposedly to allow officials to signal those who commit fouls to the official scorer on one hand. With the game becoming more internationalized, it won't be surprising if this rule gets changed some day soon. FIBA permits the larger digits.

Numerologists may find significance that even when you add together both digits of this year' steam jerseys, no total exceeds five.

Has there ever been a 0 (zero) or 00 (double zero) on UConn?

Diana wanted 0 but Geno didn't like it. He thought its worn by folks trying to attract attention to themselves.
