Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.

Yes, UK forced 921 TOs this season, including 49 against Arkansas Pine Bluff, but how did they do vs good teams?

Louisville - 26 forced/26 committed
Duke - 16 forced/26 committed
Notre Dame - 19 forced/22 committed
Tennessee - 16 forced/20 committed
South Carolina - 18 forced/29 committed
LSU - 16 forced/26 committed
Tennessee - 20 forced/19 committed
Vandy - 16 forced/24 committed
South Carolina - 14 forced/21 committed
LSU - 17 forced/24 committed
Gonzaga - 14 forced/10 committed

Kentucky opponents with the most turnovers (teams in the state of Mississippi seems especially prone to TOs):

Arkansas Pine Bluff - 49
Jacksonville State - 48
Nebraska-Omaha - 42
Northeastern - 37
Mississippi Valley State - 36
Ole Miss - 36
Mississippi State - 33
Southern Miss - 31
Auburn - 30
Morehead State - 30
Alabama - 30

BIG 10, SEC and the B 12 do not play with the tenacity of this UCONN team. PSU found out that DEFENSE by UCONN caused them to play at a pace they did not like and shoot shots that were not comfortable.......

UCONN 84 UK 56

This is truly an incredible division of a stat. UK is at -55 against the top 11 teams they have played but overall is #2 in the nation and have a +355 advantage in turnover margin because against teams like Arkanasa- Pine Bluff they ran up advantages of 39 or so. That does make their ferocious-seeming defense seem a whole lot more tame. Two of the crushed teams Ark Pine Bluff and Savannah St. are #340 and #339 of 342 teams in the Sagarin ratings and I can't even find a listing for Nebraska-Omaha, another of the stripped ones.

Nice analysis by Nan and Dobbs.

In keeping with the bikini theme, let's hope that Kentucky gets waxed tomorrow.
