GAME NOTABLES AND HIGHLIGHTS
Garland- Plano held off Naaman Forest 38-25 at Williams Stadium on Thursday night to remain unbeaten on the season as quarterback Richard Lagow, a UConn commit, rushed for a pair of touchdowns and passed for another.
Plano (3-0) took the opening possession of the game and drove 75 yards in seven plays to take a 7-0 lead when Lagow capped the drive with a two yard scoring plunge.
Garland Naaman Forest (0-4) immediately answered with an impressive drive of their own to tie the game, 7-7, as they marched 70 yards in six plays resulting in a 5-yard touchdown run on an end-around by Branson Ball.
Plano pushed its lead to 14-7 early in the second quarter when Lagow fired a 48-yard touchdown strike to Devon Richardson who caught the ball in stride and strolled into the endzone untouched.
Lagow sparked another Plano scoring drive late in the second quarter when he delivered a 53-yard pass to Mitchell Henson before calling his own number two plays later resulting in his second rushing touchdown of the game.
Naaman Forest kept things interesting in the second half as Juaquin Davis rushed for a pair of touchdowns then trimmed the Plano lead to 31-25 midway through the fourth quarter when Oscar Iheme hauled in a 12-yard touchdown catch but Plano put the game away for good when Andre Morman exploded through the line of scrimmage for a 48-yard scoring run.
