When Stokes came out of the game for the final time with 5:04 remaining in the second half Monday, she received a jubilant chest bump from senior Tiffany Hayes in front for the Huskies’ bench. It was true of admiration for her effort.

“Yeah, I think once they got over the initial shock of (Stokes’ performance)… I think somebody showed them the stat sheet,’’ Auriemma said jokingly. “I think once that happened, they were generally excited for her.

I'm new to the yard but has anyone else noticed that Kiah plays a lot better when she actually gets a few passes from her team mates on time and in the right place? Well done Kiah and well done to all her teammates who passed her the ball last night . A lot of people don't realize that forwards and centers get more energized if they get a little "something" for the effort? (touches) Did you notice Stef in the Big East tourney? She got several touches and played very well. Proof that this is true. So Kelly, Tiff, Skeeter, Bria, and Caroline, show Kiah some more love by getting her the ball high and on time and she'll help get you to the promised land! You heard it here first!

Welcome and I agree.

I sometimes notice the flip side with Stef - she works her butt off to get her opponent in a poor position, and I mean works hard, then finally is positioned, waves frantically to get the ball and it doesn't come in. Sometimes I see a bit of a deflated look, like "why did I bother?"

Reward her, it will pay dividends

Thanks Phil.... great observation. Post players want to be rewarded. Stef will post up hard and if she doesnt get the ball, you can see the exasperation on her face....... plus now she has to sprint her @ss down to the other end to play more defense! Just what she wants to do! LOL

Bingo! Why I like tall guards.

Kiah did very well and I do not want to diminish that, but KS was already pretty much totally psyched by the time she went into the game.

This has been my one and only complaint about this years team. I feel that the bigs do a great job of posting up but the passes into the post are more often than not, late, too far to the right, left, too high or low. Transition is spot on, half-court could be much better.

GO UCONN!!

Lots of unUConn like hesitation at the perimeter... but it is getting better at the right time .

Still, we win as a transition team this year. Half court, there are 3 - 4 teams better right now.
