Point guard Moriah Jefferson was your typical freshman last season. She had her moments when she turned heads with her performance. She had others where she looked very ordinary, lacking in confidence and consistency for UConn.
What a difference a year has made for Jefferson. Instead of being ordinary, she has proven to be extraordinary. Heading into the American tournament this weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena, she is averaging 10.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.6 steals in 29.2 minutes. But these numbers detail only a portion of her growth.
