Another nifty thread from The Horde via JS. Brother, does she sound like a UCONN kid...team oriented, grounded, family oriented, perspicacious, priorties, and then some. ANd from a supportive family. Perfect fit with "Our Girls" and with/for the dynasty.

So A'ja wants to be an Olympian.

What a dilemma.

Should she go to a school which has the coach with the most recent Olympic experience, who knows what it is like to play at the Olympics? Then pick the school where Geno is the coach.

Or should she go to a school where the program has prepared more Olympic basketball players than any other? Then choose Connecticut.

Aja wants to be coached up to the top of her ability. If thats true, hard to make a case for anywhere but uconn with geno and cd. Just look at all the wnba, olympic and overseas pros uconn has produced. I think the only thing that keeps her from uconn is if she wants to stay home. Another comment is her parents watching games which I believe a satellite dish and sny takes care of.

She said she wants her team mates to feel like family.Well,on her visit,I am sure she will see how that is how UCONN girls are, family.Hopefully, she likes the great people on this team, but then again, who wouldn't?

"my ultimate goal is to play at the highest level that women can play in basketball. So I want my coach to get me there.’"

Name a coach better than Auriemma.

This does seem to be the crux of the matter, doesn't it?

Probably seeing myself there if I were to get hurt or if I couldn’t play anymore, seeing myself there for the rest of my years that I would be there because my team is going to be pretty close to my immediate family in the relationship that I’m going to have

A very good thought to have about college. Mature.

She needs to talk to Caroline Doty, and she will end up at UConn, no better example of family even when you have been hurt.

So, A'ja loves to talk, she would have a great mentor in Auriemma who loves to talk especially when asked questions on T.V.

She has a great smile...she "looks" like a Husky. I remember once Geno talked about the "look" of his teams, and you can really see it in her. Hope she sees blue in the mirror.
