Aaaaaaaand this is why UConn Football is not taken seriously. Absolutely soul crushing loss. UConn Football comes up small when they had chances to put this game away and take the next big step for this season. The win against Boston College is erased with a loss to this awful Rice team.
 
0-3 in overtime losses on the road. Last year we had a running game and a defense, this year we have a passing game and something that wants to be defense but isn't quite there. We had 6-2 and bowl eligibility in our hands...smh, let's hope they get back on track next week.

I hated watching this entire game. And yet I still watched the whole thing. Sober, no less.

Tackling was awful. Defense was predictably weak; so few of the players seem to have that killer instinct. Ground game gave us nothing. Offense had many chances to put the game away and did nothing. Had a chance to secure a bowl game and just let it pass us by. Felt almost predictable from the moment we gave up that huge TD run in the first quarter.

We keep losing winnable games in OT and it’s nauseating.
 
You have to go for 2 in the second OT anyway, I don’t understand the logic of kicking the extra point there when your defense has been gashed all day. Offensive playcalling was horrific today as well, just such a frustrating way to lose.

I do not want to hear the same performative crap from Mora in the postgame.

His teams throws away games due to HORRIBLE situation awareness, execution, coaching, and football IQ.

Hands them away.

Well thanks for making us no longer the worst program in D1. But this is going to get old REAL REAL fast.

Just when you have an smidge of hope they are more than just another mid team, they show they are just a mid team. Zero consistency or building off one game to the next.

We tried to run but Cam was having an off day and that Frosh RB from Norway was only one that showed signs of life but he only got a couple of carries. Why I don’t know.

Too many misses in the portal this year. Which is why I don't think Mora treating it as NFL free agency to plug and play is a good strategy (see Florida State)
 
Mora has done a good job bringing us out of the dungeon with UMass but let’s be honest, despite my username, he isn’t the answer. Need to bring in someone with a WINNING mentality after this season.
