With us now playing with a different contingent of players L-ville will have to play us very differently than they did in January. We will miss Brianna Banks but MoJeff is now filling the role she was playing. The change is something like going from really, really quick and fast to hyper speed. Bria is , also, on much more solid footing and Breanna, well, is playing like Breanna. Also, Tuck is contributing much more now than in the 8 minutes she played the first game.
L-ville oscillated between a tight compacted D trying to contain Stef which will leave us able to move the ball quickly around the perimeter for very open shots on reversal and a spread defense which left Stef free to move in the interior on diagonals and work high low with Kiah against L-Ville's 3-2 zone. Bria and MoJeff with their speed advantage over the L-Ville guards can, also, exploit the spread with attacks to the rim. Whether inside with Stef or outside with KML Breanna has the potential for another really big game. Vails is the only size they have but she is as much a liability as an aid.
The only option I see for L-ville is to try VERY hard to get us in foul trouble as soon as possible.
The game was really never close nor pressured UCONN. During a season game that could be a trap but in a NC game not so much.
