I had forgotten just how crazy this game was, including it going to 4 overtimes. So many clutch shots after clutch shots from each team.

But I never noticed until today that the UConn mascot never actually saw Adams' shot go in. He was walking off dejected not even facing the basket when the shot went through the net. Then he raises his arms up when he hears all the cheering. LOL

The moments before Jalen's shot always added that extra bit of theater. Neither DHam nor Jalen wanted to inbound b/c both were dejected. DHam finally relented and boom... Watching it live, I thought Len Elmore said "holy ish" when it first went in and thought this was just next-level bizarre.

My wife and I were driving Rte 2 to Mohegan Sun for a show during all the OT's. After the first OT, I kept turning off the game to play some tunes to relax both of us and then coming back to check in on the game and couldn't believe they were still playing....

I was watching the epic 6OT game vs Syracuse years ago and regulation had just ended after the officials says the miracle 3 'cuse made came after the buzzer. Then the power went out in my area and I couldn't watch the rest of the game. This was also before I had a true smartphone (LOL) so I couldn't even load up ESPN to follow along. Woke up the next day, and when I found out I had missed a 6OT, all-time classic, I was pissed to say the least. And of course we also lost the game.

Dont be. You were lucky to be spared the torture. It is never worth watching. Ive never watched the game on TV. I was there and it sucked so bad, we missed so many opportunities to close that game. I know it is historic for the 6 OT's and all, I get it. But as a UConn fan it is a horror show, there is nothing redeeming about it. Ugh. I just said more about that game today than I have in 16 years.

It was also terrible basketball for most of the overtimes. We basically just stood around against the zone for 30 seconds and then AJ would shoot. Over and over again. On defense we just let people drive to funnel them into Thabeet. Over and over again.

By OT4, I was like, just end this mess. If we win, great. If we lose, hey … then we can get ready for the next tourney. But it was a lousy game to watch, no matter who won.

If you took the worst 100 minutes of basketball we played that whole season, a solid 40-50 of those minutes were in that game. We had come into that BE tournament losing in the first round the last 3 (maybe 4?) years, and I just remember sitting there thinking I cannot believe we're playing this insanely bad yet again. The only positive about it is that when they show highlight packages during other UConn/Cuse games they really don't focus much on who actually won and lost and we look cool just being a part of it.

I was there too and agree. It was the late game and still had to get to GCT and back to CT. Nightmare.

The Hamilton lob to Brimah actually made him into a scorer
Poor AB must have been sick when Hamilton left after his sophomore year.
Him leaving early was a huge blow .
The first nail in Olllie’s demise
A lot of people forget that was a quarterfinal game as we still had two wins to go to win the tournament
We routed both Temple , regular season co-champ , in the semifinals and Memphis in the finals.

Truth... It was horrid basketball by the end. Think Scottie Haralson was out there air-balling three's and we just couldn't put together any consistent anything. By overtime 3 or so I just wanted the damn game to end win or lose. Have never had any interest in ever seeing a second of it again.

The Mike Francesca audio clip is the greatest thing in radio history. I encourage you to look it up if you’ve never heard it lol

A classic clip! "Oh myer gawyd! Oh, he didn't get it off. It's no good. He did get it off!"

All the most ridiculous things about Francesa in one clip.

I did have a similar experience watching the Bosox in Game 3 of the 2018 World Series. By the 15th inning, I literally just wanted the game to end and didn't even care which team won. But then the Dodgers walked it off in 18 and I was like "well, I stayed up till 3:30AM for nothing".

If Cincinnati's poor play and terrible record in the Big 12 hasn't scared kobe away, this post definitely will. Lol. Nice job!
And who can forget Cronin's meltdown in the post-game presser when a reporter asked him if he thought the loss popped their bubble. LOL

I actually read the moment differently. I don't think Hamilton and Adams were dejected, I think neither of them wanted to inbound it because they wanted to be the one to take the shot. Adams was definitely the alpha there (despite other limitations) and won out.

If I remember correctly we led in every single overtime and were in position to win every single overtime. Cuse would go on a little run to tie it and we would have the worst possible possession and chuck up a brick.

This has always been my thought as well.

Worst part about being there was because it was the last game of the night they had stopped serving booze at whatever time it was.....I think the last 4 or 5 OTs were dry!

I was watching the whole game and OTs at at work on my PC and let out a wow . Coming home my teen daughter was like , why is Jalen Adams trending on twitter . I had to show the highlights to her. Jalen became her favorite UConn player .

Too bad Jalen didn't get to taste any NCAA tournament success .

My recollection - and I could be wrong - is that Syracuse finally scored first in the last OT and at that point I remember thinking we had blown our chance to close it out. We had a million opportunities to end that game.

Here's the box score for that game. Simply ridiculous.
Also, RIP Stanley Robinson.
