UConn's dominance in women's basketball is legendary, with incredible stats and accomplishments that sometimes inspire creative, "artificial" metrics to capture just how stacked they are. One such fun angle is the revenge tour: tracking games where UConn faces teams that recently beat them, then seeing how quickly (or if) they avenge those losses in the rematch.Focusing on losses from the last three full completed seasons (2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25) before their current undefeated 2025–26 campaign, UConn suffered 15 losses to 12 unique opponents. (South Carolina handed them two losses in that span, while Notre Dame delivered three.)
The Huskies have methodically avenged most of these in subsequent meetings.Writer Aman Kidwai (UConn WBB Weekly) popularized the term for the current season after UConn's big win over Tennessee on February 1, 2026:
"Meanwhile, as a team, the Huskies completed their revenge tour and have now secured wins over the three teams that beat them last year."
Extending the idea across those three prior seasons paints an even more impressive picture of UConn's ability to bounce back.
Key Revenge Highlights (Most Recent Losses First)

  • Tennessee — Most recent loss: February 6, 2025. Avenged 360 days later on February 1, 2026, with a dominant 96-66 win (the largest margin in rivalry history).
  • USC — Loss: December 21, 2024. Avenged 357 days later on December 13, 2025.
  • Notre Dame — Loss: December 12, 2024 (their third straight win in the series). Prior losses in the streak: January 27, 2024, and December 4, 2022. Avenged the most recent on January 19, 2026 (403 days after 12/12/24; 1142 days after the earliest in the streak).
  • Iowa — Loss (2024 NCAA title game): April 5, 2024. Avenged 624 days later on December 20, 2025.
  • South Carolina — Losses: February 11, 2024, and February 5, 2023 (part of a grueling four-game losing stretch to them). Both avenged: February 16, 2025 (regular season), and again in the 2025 national championship on April 6, 2025.
  • UCLA — Loss: November 24, 2023. Avenged in the 2025 national semifinal on April 4, 2025 (497 days later).
  • Texas — Loss: December 3, 2023. Still pending as of February 2, 2026 (792 days and counting). UConn leads the all-time series 10–1.
  • NC State — Loss: November 12, 2023. Still pending (813 days). UConn leads all-time 6–2.
  • Ohio State — Loss (2023 NCAA Elite Eight): March 25, 2023. Avenged 967 days later on November 16, 2025.
  • St. John's — Loss (most recent Big East loss at the time): February 21, 2023. Avenged quickly 326 days later on January 13, 2024.
  • Marquette — Loss: February 8, 2023 (snapped UConn's streak of no back-to-back losses; came just three days after a South Carolina loss). Avenged very quickly 25 days later on March 5, 2023.
  • Maryland — Loss: December 11, 2022. Avenged 340 days later on November 16, 2023. UConn leads all-time 8–1.
This revenge tour showcases UConn's resilience—turning setbacks into statements, often in high-stakes games like NCAA Tournament matchups or against top rivals. Only Texas and NC State remain on the "to-do" list.

What about 2012-13 season when ND beat us the 1st 3 times on 1/5/2013 73-72, 3/4/2013 96-87, 3/12/2013 61-59 and then we beat them in the national Semi-final 83-65? That was so, so, so SWEET. I still think @Plebe looks at his MM gif with the player dancing on the sidelines with glee.
