WMU has their QB from last season back and the core of those receivers. Well guys, let me introduce you to the UCONN defense and expect to see Blidi back as well.

We see more from the UCONN offense in this one. Lots of room to run for McCombs and McCummings. Whitmer and McCummings each have TD passes with McCummings going to Griffin. Nice and balanced with 150 on the ground and 200 in the air.

Specials is very solid and in a surprise, Mack brings a kick-off the distance.

Two more sacks for Trevardo. Sio and Yawin continue their dominance on that side of the ball. The Broncos end up with the most yards against this defense this season at 300, but it's simply not enough. Brown picks one off to end the game.

Been reading the BoneYard for months now, and follow the Huskies on ESPN Blog with AA, and the Courant with DEZ, Twitter aswell.Love these Dogs....... but this is my first post here... I know WM has Carder back at QB and hes probably an NFL prospect, but they do not have the same core of Wr's back this year. Correct me if im wrong but WM lost 3 major WR's to the NFL this past year.. This IS NOT the same team we played last year.. thats for sure, and Obviously this isnt the same D either.. I see Whitmer coming out strong in this one with some confidence.. throwing for 250 and 3 TD's.. UCONN Wins 27-10

I see a low scoring game. Carder was a product of his system and his excellent wide receivers last year, and while the system is intact, he lost all three of his stud receivers. Only one big-time WR (a frosh) has emerged for him, and Blidi can lock him down one on one. They do have a good TE but again, our LB's can lock him down. Carder had the game of his life against us last year. I expect in Kalamazoo, he may have one of the worst games of his life this time around.

WMU's defense is MUCH better than last year, when they made McEntee look like Case Keenum at times. Our offense is still pretty terrible and I don't see us moving the ball well at all. I also like their coach, Cubit, and they have a solid home field advantage.

WMU ran the ball well on Minnesota last week, but after watching the gophers play vs. UNLV I think I could run on them. WMU won't run the ball well on us at all.

Whichever team turns the ball over less will win. Carder has a tendency to throw picks, but Maryland aside so does Whitmer. I see UConn winning a 17-14 affair.

Can the offense eat up some clock and give the D some much deserved rest? If so look for a 31-6 score. If not look for something closer to 20-14. UConn should win either way.

17-13 Huskies (or 16-13). I don't see a whole lot of offense in this one. I don't think their WR can abuse us like last year, but they still have a better passing attack. Our D is better. Unless there are lots of turnovers, both teams should struggle to score.

UConn will look to keep this a low scoring game. Western Michigan has a very good QB. They like to throw throw run. They score TD's not FG's.

The reason UConn looks to keep it low is because W.Mich can be run on. We will see the same type of game vs. W.Mich that we saw vs. Maryland. We are going to do a lot of running and keep the clock moving.

This game will not resemble anything like the loss last year, they will be humbled in their own home. That offense has averaged over 20 ppg, but our defense is special. Credit them for having a decent schedule with 3 BCS schools on the schedule.
