I've been saying this since January. This is the most resilient team I've ever seen. No matter what happens the rest of the way, I am honestly just so proud of these young men and the coaching staff, it's been a pleasure and a privilege to watch them compete and never give up. I've gotten inspiration from it that I will carry. This team has been a truly excellent way to represent our state, our university, and our program.

The toughness, defense and refusal to lose has carried us when the shots have not been falling. Keep playing like this and we got a chance.. But it would help if we showed our A game in the final four.

Maybe the most resilient UConn team ever.

  • Went 4-1 in the most difficult non-conference schedule in UConn history while mostly injured.
  • Lost by 4 to Arizona without two starters….what other team would do that?
  • Came back from 11 down at Providence with 3 minutes left.
  • Played about half of the season with injuries.
  • Only the third 2 seed ever to advance to the Final Four playing the lowest possible seed in each round (combined 26 when added up).
  • Got out of the toughest bracket whole injured and not shooting well.
  • Outscored Duke by 20 in the final 23 minutes of game time while starting 1-18 from three…what other team would have done that??

This may not be the most dominant team, but this epitomizes what Hurley talks about with Championship DNA. It may not show up in Ken Pom or Torvik, but this is why we still have a legit chance at #7.

Given that we beat Illinois already, lost to AZ by 4 without two starters and went 4-1 in high level OOC games, we should not be an underdog in this FF. I hope the misplaced disrespect is eating our guys alive. The Big East really does cause us problems, whether it’s the refs or something else, it’s real.

I’m nervous and I know it is really hard to win the FF, but I feel like we have as good a chance as anyone. AZ and Michigan still have to get through each other.

Personally, I hope it’s us and AZ in the final. I like taking my chances playing the same team twice when we lost the first one. Thats actually what makes me nervous about playing Illinois.

In all candor I'm not sure we haven't played basically the entire season with injuries. I believe Solo's wrist injury was more serious than most realize and I believe we may be healthier now than we've been at any point.

.-.
We are due for an insanely good team shooting performance

Yes, resilient. But I still don’t want to go 19 down in this thing, I don’t think I could take it.
