Love the band; have only heard "Hard Case" off this one so far and didn't love it. Studio originals are not the strength of this band (although "Midnight in Harlem" is great and the studio version holds up). Much better live, always.

I hear you but my first impression is this is some of their best studio work yet

We're starting OT threads about specific CD new releases now?

I'd suggest moving to Entertainment or you may be opening a can o' worms here.

where do you keep the latest release from bread?

I'm not one to complain but when lil pump releases an album I'm making similar thread.

I was going to do one for the Decemberists' Traveling On, but it's only an EP, so it would have to be only half a new thread.

But... for us in the wilds of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Library just launched "STACKS", one of the coolest public uses of tech for cultural purposes I've seen in awhile - a repository for current Pittsburgh music, streaming for free. Some good stuff if any of you care to listen.

What's a CD?

One of the best live bands out there these days....have seen them 5 times in CT and NY in the past 2 years so i may be a bit biased. But really, an amazing 12 piece band with one of the greatest slide guitarists in the world. He took his 15 years with the Allmans and just took off....they pick some excellent acts as openers.... i.e. ...the marcus king band.

Wow I just read that Kofi passed away last night. That’s terrible. RIP. He was great. Huge loss for the band.

When I saw TTB in Simsbury in 2017, he gad taken akeave of absence due to heart surgery. Such a talented family with his brother playing bass for the ABB and Dead and Co. Multi-Instrumentalist Kofi Burbridge 1961 - 2019
Yes I was at that show, too. I loved when both Kofi and Oteil were in the band; they had a blast together and it was fun to watch them play off each other, especially when they got Derek involved.

Speaking of which, I love this video of them rehearsing with Taj and Jerry Douglas in 2014

Jerry Douglas must've thought somebody said bluegrass jam session, not blues. Interesting seeing him in the middle of this.

He can play with pretty much anyone and in almost any style. Guy is insanely talented.

So I was hanging out with him and a couple other guys in the TTB one time. My wife turns and says to him. "I like you guys better apart than together".....I admit I blushed a bit. Derek is more of a blend in anywhere guy, but Susan's old style is missing and this was 2011.
