I don't think PC is in any danger. Even a meteorite would take a look at Providence, Rhone Island once it got close and decide to crash somewhere else.

I was about to "like this" but noticed there was no hyphen in your user name.

PC con't make the tourney; but they can kick your more often than not.
Even though PC has won it's share of games vs UConn, the end of UConn's seasons, over the past 20 years are far better than PC's. I'll take that over your wins over us 50% of the time.

No doubt I'd like some rings like you fellas; but I take solace that we can stand toe to toe on the hardwood.

Do they hang banners for moral victories over there at the Dunk?

It's not a "moral victory" win you win on the scoreboard
Hate to burst your bubble, but when you're telling yourself, "We didn't do squat this year, but at least we beat the UConn Huskies!", it's a moral victory.

PC has been immensely successful in what they've wanted to accomplish. Barely putting an effort into fielding a competitive men's hoops program, telling their fan base that they are trying, spinning a half dozen wins against a program that actually does win as being the equivalent of actually accomplishing something and all the time, cashing the checks the BE distributes (the bulk of which was earned by UConn, Cuse, Louisville, G'Town, Nova & Pitt). As long as their bar is set at keep getting checks from the conference" they'll hit their mark.

Take all the pot shots you want. Facts are facts. PC whips UCONN more often than not in the last decade or so.

But who cares? This is meaningless. Except to you. We hang banners. You brag about regular season wins. I hope you can see the difference.

Well, if winning 50% of your games vs UConn, while finishing near the bottom of the BE (you guys must be thankful for DePaul) floats your boats, while UConn makes deep runs in the NCAA's, winning it every 4-5 years, then you guys must appreciate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic.
As I said before, I'll take our "jollies" over PC's "jollies" any day of the year. And that's for the past 20+ years.

And the Patriots record against the Dolphins in the last 8 years is 8-8.

While at the Dunkin Donuts Center for the PC vs UConn game this past year I took extreme pleasure in witnessing the presentation marking PC's 50th Anniversary of their Elite 8 run. Congratulations guys!

Ok,

I'll bite...how did PC wreck the BE?

Most people here consider the BE leadership and PC interchangeable. Given that Marinatto went to PC and used to be your AD, this connection isn't completely unfounded. Ask yourself why Syracuse, Pittsburgh and West Virginia are no longer part of the conference.

Good programs: signature wins in March/April
Not-so-good programs: signature wins in January

We were in those shoes back in 1986: "we may have ended up in the 8-9 game, but how about that upset of Syracuse!"

So those schools left b/c of JM...not b/c of the substantial football $$$ they are looking to gain in their new conferences; that's you're story professor?

The problem in the BE regarding football schools vs hoops only schools is we have fairly large state schools, and large private schools who play football vs tiny Catholic schools that play hoops only regarding big time sports.
Apparently these schools do not see eye to eye. Leadership of the BE originates in Providence and these people were too slow to react to this problem. That's why all the football schools wish to, or have, left the BE.
It has all (FB schools wishing to leave the BE) to do with the Providence based BE leadership, but not PC. That school has become a bottom feeder for most of the BE's 30+ years of existence on it's own. Other than that Pitino year, and 1 or 2 other years since the BE has been formed PC cannot seem to compete.
The only team, other than DePaul , these b'tards can compete with on the court seems to be UConn. Otherwise they go quietly to the bottom of the BE basement.
