On the first team AA status - was the ten player first team always available. I thought that was a more recent innovation say in the last ten years. It seems there has been a proliferation of AA teams since around 2000 - don't remember when Wooden started for women, and I think a few others appeared after they started for the men much earlier.
If a ten player team was not available say in 2000, might Uconn go back at some point and look at the second team of a five player first team and add a name or two.
Specific to the Jones. Cash, Williams period - Cash had a more unique skill set and averaged in the 27+ minutes as a senior and 23+ as a junior. Jones was at 24+ and Williams at 21+ as seniors, but as juniors and sophomores were both under 20. That definitely hurt their national profile.
