Stanford 35-30 at the half. Sloppy game as you would expect. Cokie Reed for Texas playing well, will make a bug difference for the horns.

For Stanford. Amber Orrange has scored a lot on drives, but their offense looks very stagnant without Nneka (and Pohlen and Pedersen). Chiney got her 2nd foul early and sat a lot.

Outside shooting is not good for either team.

Rebecca lobo tweeted earlier today that "Nneka is out for tonight with an upper body injury".
Any word on what exactly that means?

Not serious. She should be back next game.

Both teams are looking shaky............Stanford better up their game before the 21st. UCONN will have its way.........

Rebecca sounded great.
Stanford has a lot of size, looked vulnerable to pressure.
Texas will do well this year in the Big 12.

yeah, expected the game to be a bit shaky. First game of the season on the road without Nneka. Chiney only played 6 min in the first half due to 2 stupid fouls. Add 6 frosh to the mix, so really shaky at times, but Orrange is the real deal. We're deep and talented, just gotta fit the pieces together.

Chiney 16 pts, 14 boards in 26 min.
Tinkle 14 pts
Orrange and Kokenis 10 pts each

We looked vulnerable on one play. I doubt many teams will press us with Orrange and Kokenis, and size to pass to.

Forgot to add, Lobo sounded great. She really has honed her skills greatly over the yrs.

Stanford has a lot of bodies... should be an interesting game vs UConn

Stanford won by about 12-15. Texas still has big problems because Reed is in poor condition, Gayle is still foul prone, and their perimeter players are still mediocre.... I'll be surprised if they can compete with TAMU and Baylor. I really can't see them improving a lot vs. last year. At best, 4th in the B12.

Stanford was solid and really won the game with Chiney's offensive rebounding and some good outside shooting in the second half. Their perimeter players were good enough to beat Texas, but Texas is not very good.

Key to beating them is keeping Chiney off the offensive boards and keeping Nneka from going off.

a tall order for teams. :) Keys for Stanford will be to keep them out of foul trouble - and healthy.
