Agreed. The other factor I suspect was the prospect of all those long cross-country flights as a new member of the ACC. When you’re 71 years old, that’s the last thing you want to do.

Harvard’s upset has obscured the fact that they were soundly beaten in the second round by ninth seed Arkansas. That team went on to become the lowest seed ever to make the Final Four, a record which may never be broken.
