Reibe To The USC Trojans

best of luck to him. i really thought he'd be a starter this coming season and a major player for us. i wonder if there was some kind of fallout? i read that his "team" soured on UConn as Reibe's PT declined towards the end of the year. Hurly is usually really good at "re-recruiting" players, if needed, to come back.

I wonder if he and his family felt that he's more suited in a system where they allows the 5s to roam the perimeter and take some threes each game, which is something we rarely see in Hurley's system.

It did cross my mind that they were in so many close games throughout the season where possessions were highly valued, not lending itself to Reibe taking many threes. It's also possible that the staff was okay with him taking one or two open threes a game, but he simply didn't feel comfortable doing it. My guess is they really didn't want him taking those and wanted him to set screens and take shots close to the basket.

Anyhow he struggled a lot during the latter part of the year and he's no longer here. Time to move on.

Seems like Eric's agent had the USC situation lined up despite the noise about other programs.

Nah. Less distractions.

No postseason to worry about....no conference titles to worry about.....less competition in practice....no prime time major network games....no fans at your games....
I took it as being surrounded by the glamorous life and what's walking around on campus.

I would think finishing at UConn and getting an NBA deal worth millions would provide that for a lot longer than the 1 year he's going to be there before transferring again...

SC's basically downtown Los Angeles. Campus is pretty enough but glamorous is one of the last words I'd use to describe it. It's basically a slightly nerdier SEC school plopped down in the middle of a pretty rough area.
