Reibe in the portal

USC is a non-competitive NCAA basketball program. Which says something about Reibe. Something that his exit from UCONN already has said. He's not really interested in competing at the NCAA level.
What a shift - coming into a "serious" program and an effen Husky, to going to a guy who takes his shirt off in the locker room and runs req ball offenses.

That is the level of school I thought he would be going to. Lower tiered power 5. I'm sure he will start there. Maybe they will be in the 1st level of the big ten this year.

USC isn't in the Big10.... oh wait... never mind. This is STILL weird.

Is USC not in the Big 10? Musselman gets laughed at here, but he did lead Arkansas over top-seeded Kansas in 23, helping ease our path to a title.
I get people are mad at Reibe, but killing the guy's character just makes us look petty

Talked with someone who I haven't connected with in a while, and they had an interesting story. It sounds like Reibe's agent was having a lot of conversations behind the scenes once conference play started, and Tarris was getting the majority of the minutes. Sounds like Musselman was in the agent's ear most of the season trying to get him to USC, offering him money, etc. Some talk that the agent's son is on the USC team.

What's even more interesting is that apparently Pitino reached out to Hines camp during the season, letting him know there would be interest with Zuby, Hopkins, and Mitchell graduating. Pitino did not anticipate UConn would be going hard at Hines because Hines wanted market value, but more because they knew Hines wanted to start, and Pitino though Reibe would be starting for UConn. So Pitino helped get him in the portal, but did not anticipate having to go up against UConn to get him.

USC seems like an odd fit for Reibe. They return a 6'10" 230 lb PF who played 30.5 minutes per game and 3 top 25 prospects: 6'8" PF #9 rated recruit, 6'11" PF #17 recruit, and a 6'11" C rated #23 recruit.

.-.
The more I think about this and never had a couple days to stew on it this transfer makes no sense at all. Reibe was poised for a ton of minutes here.

Tampering all day, and if a player starts feeling underused, underappreciated, unhappy, this all starts to look good. See ya.

I imagine once Reibe got a glimpse at the USC campus, read a weather report, spotted a few coeds strolling around campus in sundresses, saw the size of his NIL, realized he could grow rich in this environment, he had no issue with signing on the dotted line. Adios Storrs.

Hard to imagine Reibe passing up CT farm girls for all of those future Hollywood starlet groupies.
I quess a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
I don’t remember any farm girls being on campus. Mostly suburban NYC and Boston girls who had an urban style.

I believe in his case it would have been Auf Wiedersehen Storrs.

Kid is gone. Lock the thread.

Musselman is going for the quintuple big strategy.
