Solo/Mullins/Furphy/Stewart is gonna be a nasty wing rotation.
His versatility is going to be key. At 6'6 220lbs he has the size to back up AK, but as the skill to play the 2/3 too.

He looked great but didnt look anything like 6'6 to me looked 6'3 maybe 6'4His versatility is going to be key. At 6'6 220lbs he has the size to back up AK, but as the skill to play the 2/3 too.
The 3pt numbers are misleading cause he took at least a couple bailout shots for his team. His shot looked really good when he was set and open.

Yeah - one wasn’t even a shot, just a leaning prayer at the end of the shot clock where he was just trying to get fouled or get it on the rim. And he also had one blocked and had another do 3 laps around the rim and come out.The 3pt numbers are misleading cause he took at least a couple bailout shots for his team. He's going to be like Cam in that people are going to look at him and think that guy doesn't look like a basketball player and then he cooks everyone.
I think his floor game can improve from what he showed today too (leading to the 1 asst/4 tos). He had a few bad habits - at least today. He dribbled into bad spots on the floor a lot, hemming himself in the corner with nowhere to go, and threw some ill-advised crosscourt passes. But that can be coached into him easier than his knack for scoring (such as he made tough runners in the paint with both hands today). He's shot 47% for COE over the past 3 years in something like 80 games on 180 attempts. Consistently around 40% in international play. 0 concerns about the shooting. Just gotta get faster when those D1 defenses get wind of his flamethrower jumper
I’m not sure he’ll be here two years after today, he just outplayed a team of future nba players.Best part about this is maybe we get him for 4 years like Karaban.
Give him time. He hasn’t guarded one of UConn’s folding chairs yet.Big thing he's going to have to work on is help positioning. Something I noticed going back to high school. He's always worried about his matchup in the post and often doesn't get in help-side position. Leads to fouls (he picked up 2 in like 3 minutes) and opponent getting layups he doesn't get to.

And Australia basically played pick up⁹ basketball - very little floor spacing, ball movement, screen setting, etc. Some of the shots they threw up were hilarious - guys shooting over two defenders and not even looking at the rim. Being in a more cohesive system with months of practice will hopefully draw his floor game out.
Reibe seems to have quickness and athleticism but doesn't seem to understand where he needs to be on defense or can't get there because the opponent blocks him out very easily, leaving a clear path to the basket for another player. This UW commit has 15 PTS and 17 REB with a couple minutes to go. Wowthe
Unfortunately Reibe didn't get to finish the game with other guys playing well. Ended up with 6/5/0 in 13 minutes. 3/5 from 2, 0/2 from 3 with 1 TO. No steals, and should've been credited with a block.
Nice comeback win for Germany.
Reibe seems to have quickness and athleticism but ends up on the wrong side of the guy he's defending, leaving a clear path to the basket for a different opponent.
Pressure of playing at this level?
Unsure of himself?
Not aggressive enough?
Not strong enough to move his man?
Needs two months of Hurley in his face?
Yeah, he looks like he has the kind of composure that Cam had. No moment too big for him.Furphy plays great every time I've seen him but this was against a team full of lottery picks/first rounders/#1 pick next year. There should be no questions about this kid. He can score, pass, rebound, knows how to play D despite being an average at best run jump athlete at this level. He's good at everything and just knows how to play.
He's going to be like Cam in that people are going to look at him and think that guy doesn't look like a basketball player and then he cooks everyone. Throw in the competitiveness/not backing down from anyone, first to run over and pick his teammate up and every UConn fan will love him with fans across the country either loving him or hating him.
Yup, want to see him play as a 4 too, so yeah, let’s find more 5 help.To be fully honest, he has underplayed his ranking all but 1 time I've seen him. I think people see 7-foot, a decent looking jumper and assume high 4*. But the lack of physicality and defensive IQ is hemorraghing his ability to be a positive contributor at a high level.
Bigs develop late typically so I'm not really concerned. All the pieces are there physically--it's just mental. I just do think we need a plan B backing up the 5.
I think it was with his left, which is his dominant hand.Did he nail a running floater with his off-hand at the 34 second mark? Asking for a friend.
