Feel free to complain...literally took the first 2 points off the board (for UConn) because they screwed up. That changes overtime completely.

Apparently the rules have changed. You can body check shooters in mid shot now. No foul.

It was way more than that too. They were consistently pro Marquette from start to finish. It's been a while since Ive seen that

This is like watching Duke vs. Santa Clara. But we're Santa Clara and Marquette is Dook.

The Big East will later admit that the refs were wrong but will say since we lost by more than two, it doesn't matter

I honestly don't understand how the refs can do that.

The refs screw it up, so they took the basket away from UConn in overtime?

What?

It amazes me that the team that ditched the Big East is getting spoon fed here.

I won't complain about usual mistakes refs make but that two points was huge because it was anything but usual.

I mean the refs lined the kids up in the wrong direction, decided after UConn scored that they were going in the wrong direction and took the points off the board. That's just ridiculous.

The Play-by-play reads OT: Marquette wins the tip...just watch the tape and tell me who won the tip. Absolutely horrid mistake by the refs.

Some guy named Rob Dauster tweeted this:

"Officials got that call wrong on the goaltend. It should have been two points for UConn. From Rule 5, Sect. 1, Art. 3 of the NCAA rulebook: "When the official(s) permits a team to go in the wrong direction, and when the error is discovered all activity and time consumed shall count as though each team had gone in the proper direction. UConn should have gotten the two points, and it should have been Marquette ball at the other end of the floor."

They should appeal that game just for the duck* of it.

It's mind-boggling.

At that point, you change sides.

I believe they ended up deciding there was no goaltend, no?

Nevertheless a poorly officiated game.

Don't forget that Marquette then gets to inbound under their own basket. 4 point swing.

Can you protest a game like in MLB? The refs clearly didn't go by what the rule says w the goaltend to start OT

Nevertheless the refs gave the game to a school who just railed their sister. Apparently Big East refs want to officiate games like Houston vs. UTEP and UConn vs. Eastern Carolina Community College.

If it was no goaltend, Marquette would've had the ball at the other end. They gave it to them because of the alternate possession.

Terrible officiating the whole game, but basketball refs are private contractors. Unlike football referees, they don't work for a conference.

The ball was over the rim when he touched it, that was an additional bad call if that's what they called.

No, they took the points away because UConn was shooting at the wrong basket.

Are you kidding? Aren't refs supposed to know the rules? They took away 2 points from UConn in OT because they didn't know the rules.
