totally uncalled for and way out of bounds!!!!!!!!

So, let me get this straight. Over the past week or so, some of your contributions include..

"Buck, are you serious?"
"If you think Heather's on-court performance warrants playing time in BIG games, then you have not been watching"
"Stewart plays like she's the Scarecrow from Oz"
"Total lack of leadership by Doty"

but, you think "Geez, you must be a riot at family funerals" is way over the top? Hoookay.

Pinot - Take your meds. If it weren't for posters like me this would not be a fan discussion board it would be a cheerleader board. A Bobby McFarrin fest. The only discussion would be which ref cheated the team. Everything else would be "gee, they are all such great kids."

BTW - Why should fans be happy after losing such an important game?

I think this is an astonishingly arrogant, if not downright narcisstic viewpoint. Some of your other recent posts about "fans not being allowed an opinion", and "questioning players' minutes..might get you kneecapped" further that impression, as does "I really don't care if family members read this board", and refering to people with other points of view as "butterfly and rainbow Pollyannas". After the ND game, if you truly were seeking balance, you'd have gone positive! But, no. "Why should fans be happy after losing such an important game?" So, when a few folks try to find a silver lining, however small, you step in to remind them of the darker cloud.

Frankly, I don't buy the "balance" stuff. I think "If it weren't for posters like me this would not be a fan discussion board" comes closer to the truth.

My posts were factual when taken in their full context. And not personal attacks as you would like to depict them.

The board is overwhelmingly positive, not a few posters!

I'm not crazy about the citations you quoted;
I try not to do that myself.
But in general, I come down on the side of Buff's position.

And I've been asked virtually the same negativity question by Chicago.

I think there is a big difference between being critical (in a positive manner) and being negative.
Actually, I can't think of any regular posters on the board who are really negative.
And even our most positive poster...take Tony C today, really upbeat about Breanna and Morgan.
You read that rave and you think...he knows that Morgan's not getting minutes.
Is this an implied, silent criticism?
And by throwing that in now, does that make me negative?

You're absolutely right, Forty-four: the board is overwhelmingly positive. Immediately after the ND game, the "balance" shifted for a bit: there were several drive-by negative shots from folks who only seem to show up after a loss, and many BY regulars expressed their sadness and dismay. What I'm objecting to is, when a few folks tried to find some solace, or a glimmer of hope/optimism, they were taken to task for it, mocked, and denigrated - "Bobby McFerrin", "Pollyana". To me, that's kicking folks when they're down, and I don't like that. I particularly don't like it when there's a smug superiority to it.

dont have a problem at all with what you have stated and how you have stated it.
Here's to more wins and positive comments down the road!

"I think this is an astonishingly arrogant, if not downright narcisstic viewpoint"
So you think that the board would be anything but cheerleaders if there were no posters willing to point at reality?

"fans not being allowed an opinion"
Now that there is funny (channeling the cable guy). I express an opinion about a coaching decision and catch crap for three days from the cheerleaders. If I point that out I'm in the wrong?

questioning players' minutes..might get you kneecapped"
That was intended to be a joke. Too close to the truth?

"I really don't care if family members read this board"
True dat'. If a family member sees something that I post that they find offensive I would be glad to apologise - to them not to you or any one else here.

butterfly and rainbow Pollyannas"".
Not my words and I'll cop to plagiarizing them. However, they do describe the way a lot of posters look at the team.

After the ND game, if you truly were seeking balance, you'd have gone positive!
Here you are 100% wrong. First if everything posted here is all about "our girls are the greatest" - how is that balance?

I didn't post anything especially negative after the game. My first post was in response to some one stating that UConn was the better team. I posted about the ND guard scoring vs the UConn guard scoring. Did I lie there? I also said something like "if you lose to the same team 3 times it proves the other team is better at winning" That's not negative - it's true. Other posts I made revolved around seeding and how far the team would go in the tournament. I simply said that I had lowered my expectations. You're welcome to visit that thread and point out what I posted that you find so negative. In the same time frame I posted supporting Hartley's ball handling and Mosqueda-Lewis' shooting. I guess you missed that.

I really didn't get negative until I read a post about UConn fans being the worst fans in America. I thought that post was one of the dumbest I have ever read on the BY. Nothing sets me off more than some one dumping on fans just because they may have an opinion different from the cheerleader set.
