Nolan didn't play badly tonight - he hasn't in quite some time. He does a great job of sealing his defender and establishing position in the low post, but for some reason he just gets ignored by whoever is holding the ball. A few times tonight I noticed him readying his hands as if anticipating a pass while wide open and a teammate was on the move. Each time they'd either take a bad shot or make an ill-advised pass to someone else who was already well covered. The one exception was one Shabazz fed DD down low for the dunk.

was i the only one who didnt notice nolan that much? brima and olander stole the show at C for me.

He's too damn skinny. He got punked a couple times on defense

there was one play in particular in the 2nd half where Nolan was wide open downlow, didn't even have a post defender on him, and DD ignored him and then proceeded to travel on the play, Nolan was visibly upset by it. hopefully during the cupcake games they will work on building his confidence up and giving him a few looks in the post.

He needs playing time and getting 4 fouls in 17 minutes ain't helping.

He is going to be a momentum player this season. If he gets off to a good start and gets in to the flow, he'll continue to play well. If he starts slowly, gets in foul trouble or gets the quick hook, expect that game to be a struggle.

In other words, he's going to be up and down this season. Don't expect consistent numbers or minutes from him.

It really has nothing to do with skinny he just needs to move his damn feet more......it's not enough to body a guy you need to be ready to move as the offensive guy spins......he and TO do a bad job of that. They all need to slide more a quicker just like the drill I'm sure they do every day!! But Phil was not bad at all from what I saw.......

i felt he played well but got into foul trouble which hurt him, but for some of his fouls he did go straight up and got called for a fould

Everything about Nolan screams Hilton Armstrong. Someone above mentioned Nolan being a momentum player and others have alluded to confidence/mental composure as well as a lack of weight. Sounds like Hilton 2.0 - the only difference being that I think Nolan at this point is ahead of where Armstrong was beginning his sophomore season.

I still have confidence Nolan will have a good season for us. Had a really nice block that he pinned onto the backboard and also a nice rebound/put back in the 1st half.

He's solid for sure. Sorry Wolf-lovers but Nolan is a definite upgrade.

As for Brimah I don't think I even need to say anything. Kid's a beast.

I fantasize about a Nolan/Brimah tag-team at the 4 & 5. We probably won't see much of that until possibly next year, depending on whether DD stays around for his senior season.
