“That just speaks to this program and what Coach Auriemma has been able to do,” Hartley said. “His way works.

“If you want to be a great player and you want to play with a great team, and you’re willing to buy into what he wants you to do, you come here. Most of the players that come here reach their potential, whether that’s being an All-American or someone that comes off the bench. I could not imagine playing for anyone else.”

If a Top 10 recruit just wants to play basketball , and wants guaranteed playing time , then maybe they go elsewhere...........But if you want to be challenged everyday in practice in order to get better , and you want to reach your full potential as a player in college , and you want a chance at winning a NC every year , then UConn is where they should be. Because thats what happens at UConn....EVERY YEAR.

Bria and Stef will likely graduate after playing in four final fours. I was thinking about wild stats and the number of consecutive final fours that UCONN has played in. I would guess that UCONN has a disproportionately high amount of former players who have played in 4 final fours, as well as those who have played in 3final fours. Has anybody seen those stats calculated?

Well, everyone who has come here and stayed 4 years, starting with the class entering in 1987, through 2012, has been to at least one Final Four (26 of the last 26 classes)

The entering classes of 1992-1994, 1997-2002, and 2005-2011 all have played in at least 2 Final Fours (16 of the last possible 20 classes).

The entering classes of 1998-2001 and 2006-2010 all have played in at least 3 Final Fours (9 of the last 13 possible classes).

The entering classes of 1999, 2000, 2007, 2008, and 2009 all have played in 4 Final Fours (5 of the last 11 possible classes).

* Edit: Caroline Doty, though she didn't play, was with the team for 5 Final Fours
