Recruiting: Tracking Staff During Open Period

Chief has never been part of the “@Leading” crowd. You lead when you successfully close. Having said that, Chief predicts we will sign three recruits and currently we have two open scholarships for next year. We have important visits in early/mid October.
The assistants are doing a great job, but the best thing for recruiting is a quick and full medical recovery for Coach Hurley. We all send our prayers for a healthy recovery but only come back when you are medically able to. The fans just need to be patient as the staff works through this circumstance as we would want people to be if we had a medical issue.
Typically, the head coach does the Close on major recruits.

Chief, you made some posts about a recruit behind door number 1, or something like that. Was that about an actual recruit you thought we were going to close on? If so, do you still predict we’ll get that recruit?
 
Dan had the surgery last Friday and was up and walking around later that day. He was discharged the next day and stayed in the city a bit for follow-up before coming home. He was on campus this past Friday to check in, a week after surgery. The staff’s been in contact with recruits, and they know the deal about who’s been out to see them.

it was a curtain. we got the kadary crystal balls shortly thereafter but shame on me for forgetting that Chief's prognostications are never that straightforward. he might've been referring to a grad-transfer we sign next july.

Yes, Yes. Just be aware when you have plan A and Plan B - they both think they are Plan A.

I'm trying to decode your Chief lingo. Are Plan A and Plan B referring to recruits (so they would be a team's Plan A and Plan B), or are they referring to teams (a player's Plan A and Plan B)?
 
I don't know if this makes any sense but could Coach use skype or something similar to speak to recruits? Not sure how this would count against allowed visits, etc.

I thought same thing. There should be a medical exception to speaker phone calls or Skype FaceTime etc
