Seems like they are recruiting a lot of point guard... wonder if they expect boatright or napiier to leave

“UConn speaks for itself, just the name, they get people to the NBA,” Clark said. “It speaks for itself. If you’re trying to go somewhere to get to the next level, what’s better than Connecticut?”

Gotta love that quote.

Not only could one or both leave, but we haven't seen either play the point as well as hoped. Both are small 2 guards, though I hold out hope that both can be solid pg's if they just better grasp spacing the floor. I would like to see a big combo guard and a true point come in with the next class. The following year, we need another pg in the class.

Shabazz showed he could run the team although he needs to be more consistent in his decision making....Boat we will need to see more as he seems to be a playmaker/PG combo which results in similar inconsistencies as Bazz eventually.....no matter put the 2 of them on the floor at the same time, despite size deficiencies they will be very good combo guards and tough to handle.....again, it wasn't the PG position that hurt last years team at all it was the front court so once again our strength will lie in these 2 along with RJ and Omar.........if the front court can be scary enough at all for opposing teams the 2 guards will have wonderful years but they need production from the interior for sure.....

Bazz certainly showed the ability to run the team; I think his foot injury was more bothersome than most people realize. Although I will admit he made his share of bonehead decisions -- hopefully that subsides with another year of experience. Boat was a frosh and ran the team very well. Cleaning up the rookie mistakes from last year and adjusting to the adjustments teams made on him alone will make him very good this year. Would not be shocked if Boatshow gets his name announced in next year's draft.

It seems like all of the point guards who come in take some time to be able to run effective offense, especially against zone defenses. Last year, Bazz was the only guard who could make the entry pass to the center of the zone with any consistency. I hope that Boat gets the knack of this pretty quickly or we could again struggle against zone defenses. Wes Clark looks promising as a passer. It would be nice to get some non-smurf sized PGs, but the quality of the player is obviously the most important thing.

I think the zone issues was also on the sholdiers of our bigs. most times they just sat there and did not move or set picks...
