Lamb, AO, Drummond, and Bradley are now gone. You would have to think this makes UConn more attractive to recruits. I know there is the still the postseason ban issue, but you would have to think some kids who aren't realistic one and done candidates would take notice.

Chris Obepka would almost certainly get minutes, if not start. It seemed like he was favoring St. John's and Cincy, but I wonder if this helps UConn out.

Who else is UConn after? Bradley Hayes? Sam Cassell Jr.?

I think Sam Cassell Jr. cut UConn.

I guess UConn this year is as tough a sell as say DePaul or Rutgers or any other crappy team that never makes the NCAAT.

With Evans coming in, Omar solid and Ryan and Nap already here, there's no real need for a player like Cassell, Jr. He's also getting a little bit of that 'last call' sort of bump to his rep that will get him a bigger offer than perhaps he's really ready for.

I don't see UConn bringing in anything major in what remains in this class. I think we'd be attractive to a transfer, though.

As long as we develop and come together as a serious team, swag intimidation like '04 '09. Have a sr squad bring in good recruits in 12-13 and the dominate. Get everyone to know their roles and win the big east tile

i know we still have a chance at obekpo and parker but are we still able to recruit anthony bennett even though we are no longer on his list? i mean we did pull deandre last year. if we could get these two kids we`d be in good shape.

From what I gathered lately, Hayes and Jefferson dropped us but I hadn't heard anything lately about what Obekpa in thinking. UConn would seem to be a good choice for Obekpa, but if those other programs have similar PT to offer plus less baggage, it's going to take a yeoman's effort to convince him otherwise. With that said, I didn't think the staff had many bullets to nail Daniels down last season but that one turned in our favor. Parker hasn't listed us in months and I'd be shocked if we had any chance with him.

What can you tell us about Woodson and Washington? Are they in position to reclassify to the 2012 class and if so, what positions do they play and how good are they?

I have a feeling that the staff will or has begun to look internationally for some big bodies. It wouldn't be the first time we added a big that we hadn't even heard of at this time of the year.

The NCAA has essentially prohibited teams from getting players directly overseas. They really have to go to school in America for at least a year now before they can become eligible.

I thought Parker dropped us a long time ago. He might have flirted with adding us back on his list, but I didn't think we made his latest cut. Maybe I got that wrong. Bennett dropped us a while ago and he's got some very good programs that will not only make the tournament but have good odds of going deep into it. There really isn't much that our coaching staff can point to to make UConn look as attractive as his other choices. I'd love to land Bennett. I'd be very happy with Obekpa who is considered one of the best shot blockers in the class, behind just Nerlens Noel. Seeing that our team might struggle to score points, adding recruits that excel on the defensive end of the floor would not be such a bad idea.

So does that mean you think Obepka has no interest in UConn?

I'm not sure of eithers school records and wether or not they can get enough credits done by summer end to qualify but they are names I know becuase they are playing in New England. Hope the staff checks in with both asap. Both are big guys who will be sought after next year.

i have this sinking feeling ...

What a unique position that we have been in with recruits. We have had some bigtime hits and bigtime misses in recent years. The hits are all pros(kemba, dyson, adrien, price, bynum, drummond, lamb, etc, etc.). The misses are equally bad(academic issues, zero court results, etc).

The turnover cannot be ignored, as it suggests immense instability/poor recruit identification/development.

Not sure what to make of all of it, but on a large scale you can see where our issues spring from.

All signs point to Obepka going to Cincinnati.

No need to mention Anthony Bennett. It aint happening. Look for him to commit to UK in the near future.

Call me crazy but isn't Michael Chandler still out there? I know he is/was a UCF commit, but not sure what is up with him now. Is he even eligible?

No, not about eligibility, just no. That kid has too much baggage.

We can't touch him. The minute we do the NCAA will open up a investigation into our campus for something and dig....

There aren't many teams that can have a championship and a second trip to the Final Four in a 4 year period and still have fans bemoaning "poor recruit identification."

I don't think UConn is doing particularly well there. I'd be more than surprised if they landed him.

C'mon, are you forreal? We are in this $hitty mess because we missed on a ton of recruits. As my post stated we hit a ton too, but we didn't identify/develop role players, we cut kids loose. Anyone who disagrees is being stupid.

We hit the jackpot last year and in 2009 had a ridiculously good season, but enough nate miles/mandeldove/Wiggins(should I continue?????) Types will ruin you.
