EMMA CECHOVA: a quick review of her FIBA 2025 Women's EUROBASKET
June 18 to June 29, 2025 (check FIBA website with this named "search" for
more details).
For starters this tournament was the SENIOR WOMEN's TEAMS!
Starters included EMMA MEESSEMAN for Belgium (MVP) and JUSTE JOYCTE for
Lithuania, AND...UCONN SIGNEE # 28 Jovana Popovic of SERBIA!!! WELL NOW!
The Czech REPUBLIC came in 6th losing to Germany 81 - 70 in the
5th place game. In one game Emma Cechova and her teammates beat Juste Joycte and the Lithuanian team 81 - 76 with EMMA CECHOVA being a starter in this game.
Earlier in the tournament EMMA was coming off the BENCH. In some of the
later games she was a starter. Against Lithuania, she played 25 minutes (I think), and she had 9 points with 9 rebounds. Emma's team lost to Spain, 88 - 81. One of the starters for SPAIN was AWA FAM, 6'3'. Fam played 12 minutes 45 seconds and
scored NO points with four turnovers. EMMA Cechova started and played 25 minute 38 seconds scoring 13 points on 6/10 shooting with 8 rebounds, 5 offensive!!! Emma Cechova also played against EMMA MEESSEMAN and
the Tournament winning BELGIUM, losing 88- 81. This was not the Championship
game but DURING the tournament.
One report in an earlier post had EMMA CECHOVA as 20 years old.
Her reported birthday on FIBA is July 12, 2004. So, she was 20 years old
at the time of the JUNE 2025 Fiba Tournament. She in now 21 years old. One
Fiba news report highlighted the future " BIGGEST STARS IN 2027 ". That
list included Juste Jocyte, 6'0" and Awa Fam (Awa Fam was listed as 6'3' in
one report, but 6'4" in a different report). EMMA CHECHOVA as one of
the highlighted players in this future "BIGGEST STARS" report. It also
commented on her positive footwork.
I thought that Ms. Cechova reminded me of DORKA , but Cechova

Agreed......she moves very well to the basket and can finish.......I'd just like to see what other tools she has from a shooting perspective......from the limited stats I've seen, it looks like she doesn't shoot threes and she's a 50% foul shooter which does not inspire confidence....
