To get a diversion from some of the recent unpleasant topics, I looked back at my recruiting rankings from the past 3 years. 2015 is still going on, of course, but I thought it was interesting to see who has been doing the best. The point totals come from averaging the points that I had given to them each year (from a formula I've put together).
As with any stats, interpretation is the key. Does this mean which teams should do best in the coming years? Somewhat, although there have been transfers and injuries, and NO, I am not going to go back and research every player and situation to edit them.
What it will ultimately reveal is how important a great recruiting class is -- if you get great players, do you win the title? We already know that is a yes-and-no question. Yes: you need great players. But No, there's coaching, injuries, transfers, and poor rankings that can lead things astray.
For now, just for fun ...
