In yesterday's game this team broke the all time 3 point made basket season record. The 2013/2014 National Championship team made 287 3 point baskets, this year's team has now made 290. It appears they will be the first to reach the 300 mark. Also, yesterday Jordan Hawkins made three 3 point baskets, giving him a total of 87 on the year and tying him with Napier (87) and Anderson (87) for sixth place. Ahead of him are Anderson (88), Sheffer (95), Hamilton (99), Gordon (104) and Allen (115). As far as 3 point baskets are concerned he and the team are having the best season in UCONN history.

Chattanooga leads the country in 3's this year: 398 - pretty insane that we aren't even close to them in our best year ever.
Not really. Many teams make 3pt shooting the focus or even exclusive source of their offense. UConn has elite offensive rebounding, excellent transition game, and solid post play, so points can come in other ways.

That we are breaking our own records is more a reflection of how the game has evolved. I predict we will eclipse this year's record in the next 5 years

I'm surprised it's not Penn State. They love launching, and making, threes all game long

But back to UConn, it feels like we get A LOT of high quality threes every single game. Sometimes it feels like a coinflip if they go in or not. imo we should have won those first games against Xavier and Providence, but we missed A LOT of open threes.

Our offense generates such good looks, so it's not surprising to see Hawkins leading the charge of an all-time great 3P shooting team. Yesterday our 3P% was better than Providence's FG%, and we shot 30 of them (!!)
