Almost all of the schools in the Big East are basketball focused and they will field very competitive teams. The Big East Tournament at MSG is the crown jewell and I really don't think any other conference and certainly no mid major conference has anything comparable. As for recruiting, the Big East has averaged 5 schools in the top 50 recruiting rankers per year since 2017. That is a top conference.
