I invested in one of these guys years ago for a 4th of July party we have every year at our lake cottage.

Why is his friends showing up behind the baskets at games now?

I first noticed this last season and here we are now with this crap being more regular at games. Even we have a smaller one in our crowd.

If I tried bringing mine into a Phish MSG NYE run show(s) we’d get turmed away.

Please stop this offensive game incursion, Sackless NCAA.

If you brought that into a Phish NYE show at MSG, the band would probably incorporate it into the countdown / midnight set.

I have no idea how big one of those is without any air, but I imagine that it can be folded to being roughly the size of a folded blanket.

I also don't know if they need specific air sources, but these days something like an Air Moto isn't a whole lot bigger than a cell phone. A couple of those may have been enough to do the job.

Yes, someone who wouldn't have needed to empty a carry bag (pep band member?; basketball staff member?) would have needed to sneak it in and pass it to someone behind the basket, but as annoying as it may have been, it's something players need to find a way to ignore. What goes on at Arizona State. home games are at a minimum just as bad.

I tried to bring a tote bag that the Gampel security deemed was too big one time and they acted like I was trying to bring in a weapon.

You can buy any tube man design you want.
Mine is an American flag one. And I’m sure now they will print to order.
The investment is in the fan below it which is big, heavy and weighs a bunch. So you need a power source.

Here’s mine. 10’ tall.

Saw that and screamed it's should be a violation of something. They are ridiculous.

I get all the signs and crowd noise and doing everything possible to distract the shooter. But those inflatables have to be banned. Gotta draw the line somewhere or who knows what's next. Huge LED screens behind the hoops showing distracting fireworks, strobe lights, or actual

Perhaps an old man perspective, but it feels like if students want to distract opponents, they should be doing it with stuff they themselves are waving around, not having machines do it for them.

I’m very anti-purchasing anything for Halloween costumes, but with some construction paper, scissors and staplers, I made myself a mean DIY inflatable arm-flailing guy costume.
You are offering to wear that to games? Cool!

I'm now accepting offers from UConn students on the Boneyard to sneak me down to the student section for the Seton Hall game.
Seton Hall can't shoot, you should pick a different game.

It's completely doable! They got blue and white kid in there for years.

Those were a lot taller than 10"

Had to be an "inside" job. As you know they have an air compressor and require a power source. How's that getting through security?
Definitely coordinated by ST J since it was moved to the other end for the second half.

I don't recall what school, but saw a game earlier this year where that section had several spinning optical illusions, like the ones used in old movies to hypnotize. Seemed amusing.

Makes me wonder if there are any rules against what can be done in the stands. Could an entire section hold up a large piece of mirrored surface to reflect back at the shooter?
