I would counter with that, though, that Iverson likely drew 70% (obv made up stat) of the defensive attention opposing team, allowing the other guys to do what they did.

If he was drawing that much attention, perhaps he should have passed the ball more. In either case, I'm not going to give him special credit for taking an untalented team to the finals when Mutombo and the officiating in the conference finals helped the 76ers a great deal more than Iverson's play. Mutombo had 3.8 WS in postseason run to Iverson's 2.7

I personally liked the 80s model of the NBA better than today's model. I loved all the physicality. It was a tough, tough league.

I miss that toughness as well but it was still a stars league. When anyone got near MJ in the last few minutes of a close game, he was going to the line.
