I've been watching the total three pointers - hoping he can get to 3000. He is 113 away presently. Looks like if he continues at last years rate, he will crack 3000 early next year if he's still playing. To think at this point he has made 12% more than Miller' total is kind of astounding.

Plus he needs to make it harder on Curry to catch him!
Miller even got around 100 extra three-pointers from playing three years in his prime with a shorter line. His production jumped big time in those three seasons.

I doubt Curry will have the years to catch Ray. His ankles are made of recycled glass. I hope I am wrong.

Curry just shoots so many of them (and efficiently) that I think he has a good chance to do it even without perfect health. He already has 700, so he can reach 3000 by making 230 a season for 10 years (or until he's 35). He made 270 last year, so if he does 270 in years of great health and 190-200 in years he misses some games, he can get there. But perhaps he will slow down at a younger age due to the cumulative effect on injuries.

There are other guys like Klay Thompson and Brad Beal that shoot them a lot and are still young. It's become more common for players to come in and bomb threes in this day and age of studying efficiency metrics, so if none of those guys do it, someone will probably come along. But I think what Ray did relative to his predecessors is pretty remarkable (hitting 3000 when only one other guy had made 2000). Not quite to the level of Babe Ruth hitting 700 homers when nobody before him had more than 200, but still remarkable.
