He is here for at least another year, probably two. But if the blowouts don't start to subside next year he could get the ax.
I sure hope you're wrong, because after two more years all his players will have transferred out. I hope he's gone Dec 3rd.

When should we start expecting improvement Randy? Year 7?

I don't know why a few people keep asking this question like there's some inconsistency here. Most people who are still have been supporting him have been very consistent that he needs to get the chance to have his recruiting classes become upper classmen. So no, not year 7, but also didn't expect us to show massive improvement in time for this week against a good Navy team. The turnover margin was disappointing, our struggles to stop them was expected.

I don't love that he's the coach, rather we'd spend a lot of money on someone young and innovative but since that seems unlikely to happen gotta give him a fair amount of time rather than fire him without a real plan in place

I'd take him in a heartbeat over Edsall, and anyone else he can bring with him. Did you here Dan O, talking about Edsall yesterday?
Yeah I was internally screaming "Noooo don't do it Dan" I was pretty disappointed he said that on national tv. I know he is an Edsall guy, but we've seen almost no improvement with this team from year 1. We can't keep getting the excuse that "we're a young team" does any of the upper class man play at all?

Agree but there is such a drop off in talent after most of the starters on defense that benching anyone just makes things worse. I cringe watching Robinson play because I don't think I have ever seen a worst tackler. Yet, he has more interceptions on this team over the past 2 years than anyone one else on the team.
King was brutal.

Should have escorted Randy off the field at the end of the 3rd period.

Orlovsky said it takes 5-6 years to turn it around in a developmental program.

Think it was him that said to look at SMU for reference. SMU is loaded with transfers.

Transfers — what every surging program in the AAC figured out. Also, Lashlee seems to be getting it done...

It's been like 3 straight years now that we're just too young and inexperienced to compete. Will we ever have upper classmen on D again?

Yes, next year.

Peart is the only key player graduating off the team. If we can find a QB and don't get killed by transfers maybe we start winning next year.

We probably need to let some time go by after the season before I ask, but I’d be curious to see how many wins next year people will want in order for Randy to keep his job.

LMAO. Yes, because if we run Mensah all 4 downs and don't score not a single poster would criticize the coaching. Not.
Never would have gotten that far, Mensah would've scored. It was quite evident that Mora was no fan of the UConn coaching staff.

Mora liked Spanos and worked with him before. Said he’s always working.

Seemed to think our offense was a disaster. Well, he actually called it a “freakin debacle”.

edit. “Friggin disaster.” Lol.

Mora questioned why we weren’t running more when we were running at will, said we didn’t know what to do as a play evolved, said Jack Zergiotis was confused by Navy D line making adjustments and then called it a freakin debacle when we threw on second down with the bill on the the 2.

A better pass, we score on 2nd down. The play wasn't the problem unless you ignore that Z couldn't hit a barn that night.

I would have been fine running it 4 times, was calling for it before 1st down. Didn't have a problem with the 2nd down call but he should have run it on 3rd and if necessary, 4th. We were 2-6 and FG's were going to cut it with the D giving up huge plays. Man up and punch it in. At least you show everyone in the program how behind they are in the weight room. You coild have played the sequence on a loop the entire off-season.

Instead, the whole team has lost confidence in the QB. Not what you want, and sort of leaving the kid hung out to dry by asking him to do things he doesn't do well.

When he has time and a clean pocket, he will throw some seeds. Gets really rattled when blitzed and is not quick enough to reset his feet, scan the field, and deliver anything resembling an accurate pass.

Randy is not going anywhere he is waiting for that big contract like Diaco and Ollie received after terrible seasons.
Yeah Ollie and Diaco weren’t getting extensions after terrible seasons. Unless you consider a National Championship and our only bowl game in a decade to be terrible seasons.
