Tennessee gets a boat load of picks. Tennessee's path has generally been more successful than the Rams. Load up with picks and hope most of them are good.

Rams are going with the Hail Mary.

Los Angeles Rams get top pick in NFL draft after blockbuster trade with Tennessee Titans

In exchange for the top pick, the Titans receive the Rams’ original first-round pick at 15th overall, two second-rounders (43rd and 45th overall) and a third-round selection (76th). The Titans will also get the Rams’ first- and third-round selections in next year’s draft

This makes no sense. There is no gotta gave player in this draft. Certainly not a QB. At least the Hershel Walker trade netted the Vikings Herchel Walker.

It makes a ton of sense for Tennessee. Being able to acquire that many picks in a draft when there isn't any consensus game changing prospect? Do that 10 out of 10 times.

The Titans now H ave the following picks in the 2016 draft:
15, 33, 43, 45, 64, 76, 140, 193, 222

The 2017 #1 they got from the Rams could be a Top 10...possibly Top 5 pick next year.

As long as they make good picks they can literally set this team up for a long time.

Wow. Pretty stupid by the Rams. Who do they want? Hopefully not a QB, as neither is close to being the first pick.

As a Rams fan #1 pick is excellent, in this draft however I'm not sure it matters.

I think the Rams, now that they will be in the L.A. market, are banking on spending some serious coin while making serious coin with fans filling up the seats... Only problem is if you don't win, the fan's won't come... Could very well be a down year for them next year with a new QB in place....

Spaghetti on the wall strategy. Only have about a 50% chance of a 1st rounder having an impact. More picks means more chances for success. The rest can be released or used for future trades.

It has to be one of the QBs. They must see franchise in one of them...and I am guessing Wentz. I can't imagine giving up that many picks to get an OL.

I'm curious to see what the Titans do. I can easily see them trading back into the top ten for one of the top two tackles with a team like 49ers, who now seem to be SOL because they won't be getting Wentz or Goff, who they really seemed to have their heart set on. That team should be working the phones like crazy to trade down after the TEN-LA trade.

Stuck the only thing about spending serious coin..is every team in the league gets the same amount to spend. To me it seems guys choose teams that have stable ownership/coaching situations. Fisher seems to be a good guy...Kroenke not so much.

If they call Jerry Reese and offer 15,33 for the Giants pick at 10...you take that in a minute.

This has the stinch of Jeff Fisher...or Fish Stank..all over it.

Can't recall a coach who gets so much love for doing so little.

Monumentally stupid, no matter who it is.

They thought that about Sam Bradford too...that team is a disaster!

This move actually probably prevents the 49ers from grabbing a QB in the first round.

Maybe they will luck out and get Paxton Lynch in the 2nd. I think that kid will turn into a pretty decent pro QB

Our beloved AAC would certainly benefit if he does do well.

In the 2nd? I thought Lynch was pretty certainly going to be a 1st rounder
San Fran picks 7th...if they need a QB and both Went and Goff are off the board they could take Lynch there. Or they can roll the dice and hope he lasts till the 2nd. The latest mock drafts I have seen have Lynch going to the Broncos at pick 32

great move by Tenn they have their qb Big move by LA to get their qb they got their depth from the RG trade a few year back Maybe see these 2 teams play each other in the SB

I would not trade 5 draft picks, period. But the Rams have loaded up on draft picks over the years and are actually a very good and young team in search of a QB. At some point, the rookie contracts expire and you need to manage the cap to keep the core intact. They may be approaching that period.

Then it saves them from a stupid move. The guy at Michigan State is as good or better than the other two.

Making a move up in the 1st round is never worth it, in my opinion, unless you can get an Andrew Luck caliber player. This year's draft class does not have an Andrew Luck caliber player. Ironically enough, next year's draft class will.

If the Rams waited at 15, they might have been able to get Lynch. Instead, they blew their future load to move up to get a QB that maybe be marginally better than Lynch to begin with. I wouldn't have traded the 2016 picks to move up...but throw in the 2017 picks (the 1st rounder will probably be Top 10) and you have a landslide deal for the Titans. The Titans will now be able to beef up their OL and defense. Terrific steal by Tennessee, who might very well have 2 selections in the Top 15 and could, if they wanted to, trade out of one of those spots and add even more quality depth.
