Can't point to much on the box score for Diggins, but I came away impressed by his play. He didn't play hurried or out of control. Was calm, showed he has good handle and court vision. In 12 minutes he didn't commit a turnover and I thought his defense was pretty decent. He also knocked down the only shot he took (a three).

I've also liked what I've seen from him in previous games where he has been given some run (although it was very limited).

I think he deserves more PT going forward. He can be an important factor this year when dealing with full court defense that Marquette and W. Virgina use or in games where Cole is limited by foul trouble.

I don’t think it’s fair to compare him to Gaff. There’s a distinct difference between a PG & a CG. It’s not a diss to say Sool is a PG & Gaff is a CG. It’s just an acknowledgment of how the game has grown. Ex: Cj in Portland isn’t a natural PG.

Thank you. Finally some nuance in this inane argument. People can still value Gaff as a combo or 2G while being happy Diggins is being integrated and might help as a backup pure PG in certain situations. We don't have to take sides. We can love both and wish both succeed and help the team. We need both now more than ever.
