Hurley‘s been coaching for over twenty years and recruiting at the college level for fourteen years (ten as a head coach). He’s not new. He promises opportunities, not minutes. Right now, Rahsool wants to go to Villanova. I hope that changes. But, we need to understand that no one, when relaying these recruiting conversations, is 100% truthful and unbiased.
recruiting at URI and Wagner is not recruiting against the upper tier
There's a HUGE difference
Wright has the experience, thus the advantage
Talk to J Calhoun about recruiting in the upper level the first 1/2 dozen years
Can DH do it? eventually for sure, but now he is lucky to have TM and others who have that upper tier experience at top tier schools. Good things have happened- better things to come

UConn is still the bigger name. Villanova is great under Wright but a big season from UConn will give Hurley most of what he needs to compete with him. There is a large number of great players in the Northeast and we can certainly share the bounty with Nova and both be in good shape. UConn/Nova should become a top notch rivalry over the next several years.

One of the best things is if the UConn-Vil games are real battles with excellent play going both ways that UConn pull out right at the end. Thinking about it, that is one of the things I have missed the most. The gargantuan struggles and even when down a few, knowing in my mind we can do it. Sitting on the edge of my seat willing the guys to get a rebound, make a play. Miss it so much.

Wright’s won a championship and Villanova hasn’t had to restructure itself over the last few years. That’s the advantage. It’s not who you’re recruiting against that’s the huge difference, it’s what you can sell to recruits. The difference is not having to sell a program that hadn’t made the tournament in 20 years and still doesn’t have facilities comparable to the conference’s best, and somehow managing to beat out BE and Power 5 teams for a few players. He had the best coaches in the game come through his gym with their assorted pitches in the past. He’s heard it all from the other side, and it’s all the same.

Rahsool has some some solid trainers around him. His school is outside of the city, but he lives in Philly. Hopefully those outside nets come back safely and soon. A lot of local players have recently opted to leave Philly for high school ball, glad he’s stayed home.

We need guards. Who do you believe we have the best chance with? We don’t seem to be leading with any of these top 100 kids. Grad transfer for next year looking likely?

It seems Wright is killing it with Catholic school kids the past 6 to 8 years more so than he did in the past. Does anyone follow Villanova enough to recall if he's narrowed his targets and used Villanova's catholic status more than in the past?
