AIC is D2 and the alma mater of a certain famous college head coach. Good luck to R.J.

Just please nobody suggest Hurley give him the assistant role at UConn that is currently available. šŸ˜€

I wish R.J. the best and am excited to see him get the opportunity to take on this challenge. I love to see former UConn players and alumni step into the coaching ranks.

I knew Calhoun's coach at AIC fairly well. The story he used to tell was Jim went to Boston for a weekend and two guys tried to rob him. All three ended up in the hospital and Jim still had his wallet. He said that's the way he played basketball.

Likely embellished, but still a great Calhoun story.

It’s takes a certain kind of stupid to mug a 6’6ā€ Southie who made a living digging graves .

At roughly 70 years old he finished a charity bike race with a number of broken ribs.

I imagine there aren't many people out there tougher than he us.

Jim is a generous 6’, he would be thrilled to be thought of as 6’6ā€ lol

The legend of Jim Calhoun grows larger! He grew up on the mean streets of suburban Boston in Braintree, MA. He wasn't part of the Irish Mafia in South Boston. Lol. He's also about 6'0" tall, not 6'6". I'm sure JC would have a chuckle reading your post though.
