Having been to all four men's final fours, I have some familiarity with that ticket market. I'd really like to see Geno break pat's record in her backyard and I've never been to Nashville, so I'm thinking about going to the women's final four this year. I know with the men's final four you can go to the city without tickets and get good seats out on the street. I don't have the same familiarity with tickets and seating for the women's final four.
A buddy of mine won the ticket lottery for Nashville and can buy tickets during the presale. There are floor seats for $800/ticket and court side seats for $400/ticket. Does anyone know what the difference is in visibility between floor and courtside seats? Are the floor seats behind the baskets? If so, are they on risers or bleachers? Are the courtside seats along the side line? How far back from the court are they. I looked at the seating info for the arena in Nashville, but the configuration it shows you on line is for hockey, so it isn't much help. I emailed the NCAA, but---surprise surprise--haven't gotten a response.
The other question I have is: How hard is it to buy tickets on the street prior to the semis? How much of a markup do you have to pay to get good seats? I know the great variable is the teams that make it and that if TN is in the final four, tickets will be impossible to find, but I'm looking for a general sense from someone who has been there before.
Lastly, we were able to stay at the same hotel as the Uconn men's team in 2011 in Houston and it was just an unbelieveable experience. Now I'm spoiled. I couldn't picture staying at a hotel other than the one the team is staying at. I'm guessing hotel assignments don't get made until after the regional final. Anyone know how this works?
Thanks!
