If the player leaves from campus to go home, she pays her own way. If during a vacation period she combines the trip home with regular season game travel, such as from Charleston to home, the school can still, as usual, provide the cost of round-trip transportation from the campus to the game site. It can do so even if the player doesn't travel with the team, but she has to pay any additional cost associated with the travel to a site other than the game site.

This time of year can be very costly. Charleston is not an easy gateway to the world. Safe trip home women.......Best wishes to Heather today.

Thanks - I often wondered how that kinda' stuff works.

Seems logical and appropriate (though such doesn't always work with NCAA regs :p )

I'm curious does any1 know if the players accrue and are able to to take advantage of frequent flyer miles. If the players get the miles, that's a nice advantage and they can use them to offset any costs.

Players are entitled to keep, and the school to arrange for them to keep, frequent flyer points and/or miles earned while traveling to and from intercollegiate practice and/or competition. The same would obviously be true of miles earned on the personal portion of the "enhanced" trips discussed earlier.
