Question on intentional foul

When AE was fouled and it was called intentiona, i thought that she should have been awarded two foul shots for the shooting foul plus two for the intentional foul; then UCONN gets th ball.
AE did not get the foul shots for the shooting foul! Why not.
can you clarify this for me?

On an intentional foul, anyone gets to shoot the free throws and the team gets the ball. Since Ash hasn’t missed a free throw all season, she was the logical choice (Paige wasn’t in the game at the time). Four free throws and the ball would be overkill.

Maybe this is for a technical foul called on top of a common foul? Because yes, I've seen this before too.

I don't think they were over the limit, so if a common foul was called there would be no free throws awarded. Thats if they were over the limit, I don't know for sure, but that's the only explanation that would make sense.

If you saw four foul shots, it was a shooting foul + a dead ball T (two separate calls). The call last night was a shooting foul upgraded to intentional. Shooting team can choose who shoots them as mentioned above.

An intentional foul is not a common foul. They are two different things. I have seen occasions where there has been an intentional or technical foul after a common foul. In that case, you shoot the intentional foul shots, then the common foul shots, then the shooting team gets the ball back.
