Serious question about security – why are they hell-bent on removing beach balls? What catastrophe are they trying to avert?

The beach ball action last night was better than the football action.

Maybe they're worried that a member of the student section can complete a better toss than anyone on the football team.

My seats are one section over from where many of the beach balls are launched. Last year it was one or two per game and didn't bother me. Last night the beach balls kept coming and were a very big distraction for those of us trying to actually watch what we came for - a football game.

Actually it was done at the request of the visiting team(s). They claimed that it was a huge distraction since they had gameplanned only for stopping UConn's run-right, run left, run up the middle offense. They didn't think they'd ever have to worry about a ball in the air.

A beach ball or 2 is fine to bring out after a touchdown and if you are winning but not when you are down 10 to a AA team. That is the time we need our fans to support the team by giving an all out vocal effort on every play when on defense including getting your butt off your seat on 3rd down and cheering your team on and showing some damn passion for the team!! I can't stand the lack of passion and lack of interest in many of our fans who don't appear to be even interested in watching the game, even in games that we are winning or that are close. This does not apply to just last night's game but most home games. Many fans get their jollies by watching the beach ball floating around the stadium and don't care or even know what is going on with the game. You want to play with a beach ball, go to the beach. Ive seen it happen where some drunk fan stands on the bleachers and while trying to hit the beach ball and falls backwards onto a kid trying to watch the game. What if that was your kid and that happened??

Great job to that guy who popped the beach ball twice and told the booing fans around him to watch the damn game and support your team! I couldn't agree more and would have done the same thing if it came to me! Be a real fan and come to game to support your team, not play with beach balls!

Beach balls - Serious business.

The Rent needs to be demolished and re-built after last night. Too many bad memories and scars are leftover.
