D-ham at the stretch 4, and omar at the 3. My mistake.

Regardless, the point exists. We have many weapons already, and big time recruits know this.

If Ryan stays I'm not sure who starts. DHam would need to get much stronger to play the four in any system. Calhoun should be a starter as a junior. Purvis could start.

I think it would be safe to say only two of the three start and the third is a super sixth man.

I could see any of the following depth charts:

PG: RB, RP, TS, DH
SG: RP, OC, DH, TS
SF: OC, DH

Or

PG: RB, RP, TS, DH
SG: OC, RP, DH, TS
SF: DH, OC

Or

PG: RB, RP, TS, DH
SG: DH, RP, OC, TS
SF: OC, DH

Of course that depth goes puff if TS doesn't get very good very soon and if UConn can't land a top PG, if Boatright leaves.

How would recruits know that if Boatright doesn't even know that?

Look what happens to guys who are undersized and declare early...... never usually ends up good. If boat is smart, he'll make the SAME decison bazz just did, because i can almost guarentee you it will pay off.

You're preaching to the choir here, but I'm not sure Boatright feels the same way. He's been trying to leave early since his freshman year.

The power of Kemba:

UConn: “Quentin has always liked UConn. He was a big Kemba Walker fan when he was there. It’s just another one where he just hit it off on the phone with coach (Kevin) Ollie. He said he wanted to go visit. Quentin has talked to them mostly (about the Huskies’ point-guard needs). I know they run a lot of three-guard offenses.”

Sounds like the kid won't be coming to UConn if he thinks RB is returning for his senior year. Otherwise UConn would be his choice!

How do you get that from the article? He talks about how he likes the way UCONN runs a 3 guard offense which would mean plenty of potential playing time even with Boat back next year.

I was thinking that as well. I think he got it from the part that said he talks to UConn mostly about their PG needs. Either way I think we have a great shot at him.

In that article it seems that Quentin talks about why he likes Uconn, where the father talks about the other schools and why they are good.

You're keeping me on my toes. He's heading to Illinois and UConn to check out things and talks about both schools running a 3 guard set. Whereas he makes the statement about UCLA and Memphis need a pg immediately. It means he's aware of UConn's future roster. I didn't emphasize in my mind the 3 guard option until you pointed it out. I thought about deleting the post you took issue with me to keep people from jumping off a cliff, but those that approach the ledge will see it was just a butthead post.

I'm thinking perhaps Ollie can give a pretty good recruiting pitch about the possibilities of utilizing more than one point guard in the same backcourt. Maybe not everyone will buy into it, but it isn't like he's selling snake oil.

Rec'd invite to Calhoun reception at gampel on 9/22. I imagine that a lot of alumni will be around that weekend. Maybe Kemba, Ray, Ben, Emeka, Rip, Caron, Donyell, Charlie, Andre, Jeremy, Jeff, etc. and of course Jim can spend some time with Quentin during his visit.
