I tried to talk myself into Whitmer.

Boyle is going to take over as starter this season even if there are no injuries at the position. Buffalo is the softest landing.

I don't want this kid burning his redshirt just so P may have an extra W or two before he gets canned.

Whitmer is useless. I still can't believe what I saw. Man next to me, 5 year season ticket holder, was saying he might not renew season tix next year. UHart grad.

We can try Cochran. Besides, why do we want PP to win? Except against Maryland and Michigan? And Rutgers and Louisville? The last game of the season against Memphis, I predict a small crowd. Probably the lowest the Rent has ever seen.

Yes, the fact they will be desperate for wins informs my opinion he will play. At 0-3 they will try and save their jobs.

"From JS article tonight: "Pasqualoni mentioned that he thought Whitmer had trouble seeing over the line and the rush. I thought the same, Whitmer had trouble finding throwing lanes and reading the rush. Whitmer can’t get taller, I wonder how much Tim Boyle is floating in Pasqualoni and T.J. Weist’s mind (best talent at QB on the team)."

Whitmer and Cochran are 6-1. Boyle and Taylor are 6-4

Cochran cant complete a pass in a spring game because he can't get a ball over the defense. This is obvious. He can't play in a game that isn't decided.

I'd actually have more respect for the coaching staff if they started Boyle at home against Maryland.

Aren't we past the point of respecting the existing coaching staff?

I think Whitmer looked a bit shellshocked out there in the second half. Once he knew the right side of our line was soft he was ducking and turning pretty quickly. And when they rolled him out, he wasn't accurate with his arm so not sure that's a solution either.

I'd prefer we change Head Coach and OL Coach before we change QB's.

I am dealing in reality? Coaches don't get fired in September, so they pull out every stop to stay employed.

Boyle should play ASAP. Its only a matter of time before he jumps from this garbage fire, might as well get something from him before he transfers. He doesnt want to be there, only there because the real football school in New England didnt want him anymore.

Hes a legit talent, no reason to be pulled down by this program on its way to a 1AA future.

I say start the other kid from Georgia, Taylor. He can run, and he'll need to run to get away from the pass rush that will come down. Can Boyle run? If he can't it will be the same as Whitmer....sacked.

6-1 for Whitmer is pretty generous. I like him - good kid, and I hoped he'd improve this year - but he's not a good QB. I agree Boyle is our future, but let's swap with Cochran first... see what he can do.

Not sure if it's all on Whitmer. Can you name a time last night he had a pocket to throw in and not running for his life? Dunno if it'd matter who was back there

Said the same thing the whole game and pasquloani confirmed it. The field scoreboard is beautiful but its replays definitely showed how little Whitmer can see over the line. Maybe that's why he ducks and runs so soon.

Honestly, I'm so deflated after last night that I don't care who is QB. I don't care who plays where. All I care about is who is coaching our team and OL. Both need to go yesterday.

Sure Whitmer made some mistakes but when he had time he made some plays. He only started getting happy feet after he relized the o-line couldn't block again. The O-line hasn't improved at all. Towson rushed 3 guys at one point and the guy sacked Whitmer without being touched. How is that possible? They only way our QB survives this year is putting someone in there who can run. We can't run again, several short yardage situations and couldn't get a first. Our offensive struggles are all on the O-line and this doesn't look like it can or will get any better.

I don't know how anyone can judge the QB. Other than the INT, which was bad, he didn't see the guy, he generally threw the ball on target, when he wasn't running for his life.

Though I did realize the possibility that Lagow may have left because of how bad the team is.

The only thing more nauseating than PP being employed is the continued Lagow love...

Now - normally I hate blowing redshirts, but I absolutely want Boyle the rest of the way. You can get valuable experience from playing even if the season doesn't end up 9-3 like we had hoped (but certainly not expected). God forbid Boyle lead them to an upset against Maryland, you'd start to have some optimism for the rest of the season again. More likely, he wins the 2 games that we get in our 2-10 season, and you hope to see improvements to give you optimism for next year.

Whitmer is horrible. I was villified for saying it after the UMass game last year, and most of you guys STILL haven't caught on - I suspect most due to the Whaler thing of wanting a good QB so bad that you may as well stay optimistic. He's a QB that dosen't value the ball and can't really move the ball vertically and can't run and can't see over the line.

I will say - Whitmer was a very good sport slapping five with a handful of kids in the tunnel after the game last night. I don't think I would have been able to do it. He def seems like a real good kid. I just don't think he's any good at quarterbacking.
