QB Joe Fagnano > Baltimore Ravens Mini-Camp/UDFA

Unfortunately bowl games are a thing of the past. I'll never agree with this notion that less football is better for your future especially at qb. We are already seeing a trickle down effect in the nfl of bad qb play. People who only watch the NFL guess what it will have an effect on the NFL.

It was an opportunity for Joe to emerge as a leader after Mora left. How many HOF qbs played in a quote on quote "meaningless bowl game", in their final game. Emerging as a leader through adversity is what makes a qb. Joe worked far too hard to sit out the bowl game, not just sit out but completely opt out and not even help the other qbs prepare for the game. Agents are bad for the sport.

Weren't there reports that had we accepted an offer to play in a warmer bowl we would have had a better turnout in terms of player participation?

I'm not going to sit here and blame someone with a fringe chance at getting drafted for not wanting to go out in frigid temperatures and get banged up, potentially ruining their chances. It also is easier to throw the ball in warm weather than cold, as has been noted on here. He could have hurt his chances by playing as much as he could have helped them.

We took the Fenway Bowl against our players' wishes because the bag was bigger. I get it, but at the same time if the university is going to look out for their best interests the players are entitled to do the same.

Hey I get it Joe heard things from his agent. I like how people call these bowl games meaningless and you can hurt your chances, but you can't improve your chances in a bowl game.

How do people know you can't improve your chances at getting drafted, it only takes one team. I'll just never agree with this notion that voluntarily sitting out bowl games is good for the sport.

That's my whole point though. You can help or hurt your chances, you don't know how things are going to go. Reports were we would have had better player turnout in a warm weather bowl. The university made the choice that was best for their bottom line. The players then followed suit and made the choice that was best for them.

If the university has a right to do what is in its best interest so do the players

Nobody cares what excites you. UConn football and Joe Fagnano are in no position to be too good for any football game.

It made no difference to Joe Fagnano or UConn Football. I'm glad the backups had a chance to get some snaps though.

.-.
Does everyone on this site still mad about the Jello Pudding Pops Fenway Bowl have an ulcer? Pent up and misplaced anger can't be good for you. As a certain Disney movie taught us, Let it go.

I froze my butt off at Fenway to watch some of the worst QB play possible. So yeah, I get mad when I think about it. But I think it probably cost both Joe and Skyler in the draft, so there's that.

BTW, Frozen sucked.

Not having a good tie in sucks.

Sorry I didn’t get excited about the Boston Bowl in a baseball stadium for the second year in a row.

Hate to break this to you, but in that conference you pine to get into, the ACC, guess what the tie in is that would be our forever home if we get in.

The Fenway Bowl
