I was asked this last Friday and thought it was a good question.

Who are the best former UConn players to never play in the NBA?

Bonus: Who are the best UConn players who graduated on time?

(There's a good chance this has been discussed before. If so, sorry.)

Best to graduate on time
Chris Smith
Shabazz
(throwback) Tony Hanson
Cliff Robinson
Niels Giffey!

Doron
Nadav
Rod Sellers
Stanley
Curtis Kelly

I can only go from 90 on so i'm sure there are some older guys that should be included but I never had the chance to watch them.

The second question is hard because I'm not really sure who graduated.

Best on time: Napier
Chris Smith
Wes B.
Corny Thompson
Tony Hanson

Best Never in the NBA: Sheffer (drafted, but I believe never played)
Henefeld
Earl Kelley
Bill Corley
Kevin Freeman
Me

ill take a shot at the best starting 5 to never play in the NBA

Doron
Rashad Anderson
Stanley Robinson
Kevin Freeman
Rod Sellers

Giffey as the 6th man

How can anyone leave Mek off the 'best to graduate on time' list? He's still one of the 4 or 5 best players to ever play here, and he graduated with honors in 3 years, with a degree in finance.

So along with Mek, I'll include Bazz, Smitty, Giffey and Kirk King. I'm 99% sure King hung in an got his degree after the NCAA ended his career early, and my team needs a power forward, dammit!

Rich don't forget that Kemba Walker also graduated in only 3 years.

Walt Dropo = best Husky to never play in the NBA/ABA

Demerits for not trying to spell Bal....

Best to never play in the NBA and probably didn't graduate "yet" = Johnnie Selvie. That was easy.

The best I can think of is Nadav Henefeld. But then again I am unsure of who has and hasn't graduated.

Then maybe we should add the requirement "and has read a book start to finish" ;)

Kemba meant to say he read the book cover to cover. Meaning he read it in one sitting. Funny how those things take on a life of their own.

PG - Kemba
SG - Ray
SF - Rudy
PF - Cliffy
C - Oak

6th man - Nadov

Brian Fair is among the best to have never played in the NBA.
