A match between two of the middle teams in the Big Ten which might have seeding consequences in the big dance. I've been surprised by ESPN bracketology that has the Big Ten with more teams projected for the tournament in the Pac-12.

Block party?

"If you like blocked shots, get out the popcorn for this one as two of the top shot-blockers in the nation will face off. Nebraska’s 6-5 center Kate Cain is second the conference with 50 blocks on the year. Guess who is first? Purdue’s 6-1 forward Ae’Rianna Harris tops the B1G with 62 blocks!"

Not too surprising considering the distribution of teams on the quality scale. The Pac-12 is top-loaded with four teams in the Massey top 10 and six in the top 25, but a noticeable dropoff after that. The Big Ten has 11 teams in the Massey top 50, but none in the top 10.

I'm not certain, but I think no conference has ever had more than 9 teams in the tournament. The Big Ten has a legit shot at beating that this year.

I wonder which conference will see the most impact from the second half of the conference season and their postseason tournaments.

34-16 Purdue early in Q2. Didn't see that coming.

The B1G is whacky. My "home team always wins" might be going out the window here. 39-21 w/ 4 minutes til halftime.

He's got lots of teams to root for this year

I should try expanding the list of "my teams" to hedge my bets. I don't have nearly as many local teams to choose from as he does though.

Going down to the wire. Nebraska was ahead, but Purdue back up 2 with about 2 1/2 minutes left.
