Of course, but I was referring to just making our first trip to the final four. If Tate only could keep that ball inbounds it changes history or Christian misses that shot.
I wouldn't change a thing about UConn Basketball just for the fear of the butterfly affect and how it could negatively affect UConn in the later years they won titles.

Until UConn made their first Final Four and won it all in 1999, I did every now and then picture in my head Tate knocking the ball inbounds up the sideline for the time to run out.

I won't punch down at a program below UConn's level for achieving what 90% of programs can't do. If we made a Final Four in 99 and fell short in the title game, it would still have been a beloved team and achievement. Congrats to Purdue on taking a step closer to their ultimate goal.

Much like comedy, punching down is not fun (except for rivals - anything goes there). I will, however, continue to mock the other so called blue bloods for not sealing the deal in the Final Four at the prodigious rate UConn does. Kansas deserves to be made fun of for only having 4 titles and should be given the lil bro treatment from UConn, UNC, Kentucky, and Duke until they win another title.

Absolutely they should hang that and be proud of it. The final four is the promise land. It’s a huge accomplishment and is considered a memorable season. I’ll always take a final four appearance over any conference championship. When coaches are talked about, it’s always mentioned how many final four appearances they have.
You’d take a Final Four over the New Big East Championship? Really? Don’t you know the NBE is played at MSG? I’ve hear UConn fans say they would take (New) Big East Championship over the NCAA title because it is “harder”. And at MSG. If somebody searched hard enough there are probably post to that effect here somewhere, too.

Ahhh... Sorry, I thought you meant winning a Natty in 90. That UNLV team was scary good and peaking. I have no idea how they lost 5 games during the year. I still throw on the UNLV-Duke game for schadenfreude purposes and that dismantling is just next level. There was a run in the second half where Duke could barely complete a pass.

All I read is UConn: 6/7 in Final Fours to Natty!
To me that is the statement and direct result of coaching demands and expectations 24/7.
When discussing Uconn and other campuses he has been on he said "it's different here."

Just watched Purdue hang a participation banner for last year's final. Good for them.
You can't knock a team for celebrating a huge achievement. If uconn never won a title before and made it to the final four, I'm sure everyone on this board would be thrilled to see that final four Banner going up. Part of growth is celebrating small achievements and Purdue should celebrate every moment of that run they had last year even though they fell short.

Or Donyell making 1 free throw

Or Nadav returning for a few more years.

Purdue fans and many media pundits spent the season arguing that their b10 "body of work" should have them ranked ahead of us. I'm glad we got them in the final and I don't feel at all bad for laughing at their "we're #2" banner. Yes it's an accomplishment for most schools, and was for us at one time, but the fact that we can scoff at it is what sets us apart.

I love that UConn now has 6 titles! Amazing! I’m perfectly happy with that and the chance for more to come. There’s no reason to ridicule other programs unless there has been a real slight by someone who actually matters. Their banner is deserved.
