Not sure whether to applaud the kids ability to hold on to the ball after taking a huge hit or inability to call fair catch.

I think it is Hogg, but man that kid took some hits and held into the ball. Not once but several times.

Gonna be sore today

Tough kid but it's not smart football and that's on the special teams coach. Ya think we could block for him?

Harper did a great job holding onto the ball on those punt returns. The first one was a miss on the blocking assignment, Harper had room and it looked like the blocker was setup with #22 for Syracuse (forget which one it was) but didn't get a block and he lit up Harper.

Lol I thought you were posting about our punt return team. This is what I saw on one punt in particular.

We place like 3 guys at the line of scrimmage. Why the punter doesn't just tuck the ball and run for a first down I'll never know. So you think they must be all downfield in front of the receiver creating an incredible blocking wall.

Then the punt happens, the camera pans downfield, and you see a wall of 5 Syracuse defenders heading freely unimpeded directly into the returner who has no idea the pasting he is about to receive. No UConn blocker in sight.

Where is the rest of the punt return unit? Do they get a head start on running to the bench?

Love his courage, strength, and willingness to put his body on the line for the team. Great kid. However, if he was my player or son, I would tell him to knock it off and call for a fair catch.

2 games as a punt returner with no drops and we are critiquing him for being aggressive. I would rather see Harper try to create than Diaco and fair catch every punt crap.

I commented mid-game Harper was channeling Leon Bright.
That's exactly what I thought about yesterday. Hopefully Harper will figure out how to call for a fair catch before he ends up the way Neon Leon did.
